Abstract

Agriculture is considered as an essential sector for performing efficient food production. The fast growth of digital technology has transformed in every sector. Smart Farming employs the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to automate and optimize the agricultural operation. IoT devices are employed for efficient data communication between farming equipment and cloud-based platforms for remote plant growth monitoring and irrigation control. In smart farming, plant growth monitoring and intelligent irrigation perform efficient prediction with IoT technologies. Many researchers carried out their research on efficient plant growth monitoring and irrigation management in smart farming. But, the accuracy level was not enhanced and time complexity was not minimized by existing prediction methods. Therefore, machine learning and artificial intelligence based methods are reviewed in this article for plant growth monitoring and irrigation management.
